CW Battleships Is Live: Tactical Naval Combat Meets Real Morse Copy Training
We just launched a new game on Morse Trainer Pro: CW Battleships.
This module combines tactical gameplay with focused CW copy training. You are not just clicking random cells. You’re decoding live Morse coordinates, choosing your shot under time pressure, and managing a full fleet battle from first placement to final sink.
If you’ve wanted something more strategic than standard drills, this is it.
What’s New
1. Full Battleships gameplay, built for CW practice
CW Battleships uses a classic 10x10 fleet format with five ships:
Carrier, Battleship, Cruiser, Submarine, and Destroyer.
You place your fleet, decode incoming Morse prompts, fire on enemy waters, and race to sink all enemy ships first.
2. Four difficulty profiles tied to Morse speed + AI behavior
Each level changes both copy pace and tactical pressure:
- Beginner: 15 WPM, forgiving AI behavior
- Intermediate: 20 WPM, balanced tactical play
- Advanced: 26 WPM, stronger probability-based targeting
- Expert: 32 WPM, fastest pace and aggressive pressure
This means progression is not only “faster code,” but also better decision-making under real game stress.
3. Flexible coordinate training modes
You can train with different coordinate maps, not only the standard A–J layout:
- Split (default): player board A–J, enemy board K–T
- Classic: A–J on both boards
- Mixed: randomized symbol maps
- Custom: your own 10-symbol row/column map with automatic distinct enemy mapping
This is especially useful if you want to break pattern memorization and force true copy.
4. Turn timer and copy-assist controls
You can run no timer, or fixed turn windows (30/45/60/90 seconds).
You also get practical training controls:
- Replay current Morse prompt
- Optional decoded text display
- Optional “expected coordinate” feedback after shot
- Tone frequency and volume controls
So you can choose between assisted learning and strict no-hint copy training.
5. Online multiplayer rooms with live turn flow
CW Battleships includes real multiplayer rooms with:
- Public/private room creation
- Invite-code joining
- Fleet upload and readiness flow
- Server-authoritative turn and shot validation
- In-room chat and spectator support
For clubs, friends, and classroom-style sessions, this turns CW practice into a competitive live experience.
6. Personal best tracking by difficulty
Your results are tracked per difficulty level, including:
- Games played and wins
- Best decode accuracy
- Best hit rate
It’s a simple way to monitor progress from “can copy” to “can copy and win.”
Why This Matters
Most CW training tools focus on isolated copy speed.
CW Battleships adds timing, pressure, and decisions.
You still train your ears, but now you also train composure: copy correctly, decide fast, and execute under constraints. That combination is much closer to real operating conditions than passive listening alone.
