If you experience timing issues where audio plays later than key registration, increase the Audio Latency value or use the Calibrate button. This helps synchronize what you hear with what the system registers.

VBand setup and training guide

What is VBand (Virtual CW Band)?

VBand is a browser-based platform from Ham Radio Solutions that lets you send and practice Morse code online—solo or with others—using your real paddle/straight key or just a keyboard. Think of it as a safe, low-pressure "virtual band" for CW practice and QSOs without radios, antennas, or propagation.

Why train here on the VBand TX Trainer?

  • Built for real paddles: Works with VBand USB paddle interfaces for authentic timing and "fist".
  • Advanced drills: Real words, abbreviations, callsigns, Q-codes, frequency/top-word sets, and mixed sessions.
  • Precise timing: Straight key, Iambic A/B, Ultimatic & Bug modes with accurate element/spacing controls.
  • Audio you can trust: Zero-drop sidetone options (pitch, waveform, rise time) for clean keying feedback.
  • Made for progression: Start at your comfort speed and scale toward high-accuracy contest-grade sending.

Quick start

  1. 1. Plug in your VBand USB paddle interface and click on "Connect to VBand" button then click on "Enable Audio" button.
  2. 2. Pick a Training Mode and set your WPM.
  3. 3. Click Start Training Session and begin sending—your accuracy and timing are evaluated live.

This page is an advanced Morse training workspace for CW using VBand. It's ideal for structured sending practice, warm-ups before on-air sessions, and refining paddle technique with real-time feedback.
