AI CW Bot Upgrade: Smarter Coaching, Better Realism, Stronger QSO Training
We’ve shipped a major upgrade to the AI CW Bot on Morse Trainer Pro, focused on one goal:
help you train more like a real on-air QSO partner while giving better support when copy gets tough.
This update improves how the bot listens, responds, adapts, and evaluates your session.
What’s New
1) Adaptive Coaching During Live QSO
The bot now watches for repeated copy stress signals such as:
- AGN, RPT, PSE
- QRM, QRN, QSB
- clear “slow down” patterns
When these happen frequently, the bot automatically shifts into assistive coaching mode:
- shorter, cleaner overs
- simpler structure
- reduced exchange length to avoid overload
- faster path to a clean wrap-up when needed
If copy stabilizes, behavior naturally returns toward normal pacing.
2) More Realistic QSO Flow
We tuned the state logic to improve human realism and prevent awkward transitions:
- stronger callsign-exchange handling before advancing
- improved pacing in optional exchange stages
- cleaner wrap-up triggers (no premature closing from casual shorthand)
- better turn-by-turn continuity
This makes sessions feel less robotic and more like a real operator adapting to band conditions.
3) Callsign Parsing and Intent Detection Hardening
A major parser pass now reduces false interpretation:
- improved callsign confidence checks
- better distinction between real callsigns and non-callsign tokens
- stronger handling of over-ending controls (K, KN, BK, AR, SK, CL)
- safer intent detection for close/continue decisions
Result: fewer broken flows, fewer accidental jumps, and more predictable training quality.
4) Better Repeat/Recovery Responses
When you ask for repeats or indicate poor conditions, the bot now responds with deterministic, context-correct recovery phrases more consistently instead of drifting off style.
That means cleaner practice loops when signals are messy and better habit building for real-world copy recovery.
5) Post-QSO Coaching Summary
After you click End & Evaluate, your report now includes:
- an adaptive coaching summary for that session
- coaching level used (normal, assistive, intensive)
- repeat pressure indicators
- practical tips tailored to what happened in your QSO
So evaluation is no longer only score/rubric — it now explains how the session adapted and what to improve next.
