A run-mode CW contest simulator with overlapping callers, independent station pitch and level, QSB, QRN, QRM, flutter, realistic exchange fields, editable macros, ESM, dupe checking, and contest-specific scoring.
Quick start
- Choose a contest and complete the required My Station fields.
- Select a band, duration/contact limit, speed model, activity, and audio conditions.
- Press Start Contest, then send CQ with F1 or the on-screen macro.
- Copy the caller and exchange from audio. Log only what you copied.
- Review rate, points, multipliers, accuracy, and assistance classification after the run.
Built-in contests
The selector exposes fourteen built-in definitions. Each changes station fields, received-exchange parsing, duplicate rules, macros, points, and multipliers.
- CQ WW CW — RST + CQ zone
- CQ WPX CW — RST + serial
- CWops CWT — name + number/SPC/DX/CWA
- K1USN SST — name + state/province/DX
- NAQP CW — name + location
- ARRL DX CW — state/province or power by role
- IARU HF CW — ITU zone, HQ, or official abbreviation
- ARRL Sweepstakes CW — serial, precedence, call, check, section
- ARRL 160 — section or DX exchange
- CQ WW 160 CW — state/province or CQ zone
- JIDX CW — prefecture or CQ zone
- SAC CW — serial
- RDXC CW — serial or oblast
- ARRL Rookie Roundup CW — name, check, location
This is training software, not an official log checker. Confirm current sponsor rules before entering a live contest.
Pileup and audio
- One to five callers can arrive with independent timing, pitch, level, stereo position, and fading.
- Speed range mode spans 15–45 WPM; fixed speed spans 10–50 WPM.
- QRN is receiver noise, QRM adds interference, QSB fades signals, and flutter modulates difficult paths.
- Pause stops trainer audio; resume continues the same run.
Macros and ESM
- F1–F6 send CQ, QRZ, exchange, your call, AGN, and TU by default.
- Edit templates in Settings; overrides are saved per contest in this browser.
- ESM makes Enter choose the appropriate message or action from the current QSO state.
- Escape stops the current transmission; Tab moves between copy fields.
Scoring and integrity
The simulator evaluates the selected contest definition rather than applying one generic score. Band-aware duplicate rules, QSO points, and multipliers differ by contest. Automatic copy-fill and station reveal are useful coaching tools, but assisted results remain labelled.
Access and administration
Training requires a signed-in account with the required web entitlement. Contest administration is visible only to administrators, and the administration endpoint performs its own authorization check.
