Head Copy Lab Help
How to train buffer discipline and chunk-based comprehension in Head Copy Lab.
Quick Navigation
Buffered Copy (Hard Gating)
Buffered Copy enforces delayed typing by locking each word slot until the CW stream has moved ahead by your target lag.
- Choose a buffer target of 1, 2, or 3 words.
- Slot
iunlocks only after playback completes wordi + target. - Each submitted word records observed lag and compliance event data.
- Session lag metrics: average lag, minimum lag, compliance percentage.
Start with target lag 1, then move to 2 once compliance stays above 75%.
Chunking Drills
Chunking mode splits each sentence/story into fixed-size word groups.
- Play one chunk.
- Open response window and type from memory.
- Submit, review expected vs received text, then move to next chunk.
Use chunk size 2-3 for speed building, 4-5 for working memory stress drills.
Settings and Audio Controls
- Content source: Sentences (language + length) or Stories (set-based).
- Audio controls: character speed, effective speed, pitch, volume, and noise profile.
- Punctuation strictness toggle affects normalization and scoring.
- Replay and pause are tracked as assisted actions in analytics.
Scoring and Error Types
Head Copy Lab applies normalization (trim, collapsed spaces, uppercase) and computes both word-level and character-level results.
- Word accuracy: edit-distance based score against expected words.
- Character errors: Levenshtein alignment with taxonomy classification:
- substitution, omission, insertion, transposition
Character errors are batched and saved with context text, position, and session correlation fields.
Analytics and Guest Mode
- Signed-in users: completed sessions and character errors are saved automatically.
- Guest users: training works fully, but analytics are not persisted.
- Dashboard filters: mode, content source, language, timeframe.
- Clear Statistics requires explicit confirmation phrase.
